    Wallet Update Proposal

Proposed Changes for a short term wallet update..

    • New Windows | Mac | Linix Wallets (same code base)
    • KGW (Kimono Gravity Well) Continuous Difficulty Adjustment implemented
    • Updated OpenSSL
    • Some new hard checkpoints]
    • Fix for the DB errors

I will be asking for what we as a community would like to see in future updates after this has been implemented.

I know KGW is old, but its better than what we have just now. Future changes will be up for discussion on the forums.

At the moment this is being paid by snatchmonkey and myself, but donations are welcome in BTC to this address 1LxXw9CRunb5mJfa99aTWQMCqmbroVBUxi
All funds donated will be used to further Argentum, eg: Wallet upgrades, exchange listing costs, blockexplorer site etc/ etc...

KGW is old and slow (it looks at up to the previous 4000 blocks, and and does this for every block). DarkGravityWave is better, I think. It is faster due to looking at fewer blocks and the math involved is simpler and faster.

yes! I see what you mean.
I'll check to see if it isn't too late to change to DarkGravity.

for the moment we will stick with what's above with DarkGravity if possible.
We will ask for input from the community on everything after this update has been completed. We just want to fix the wallet to a reasonable standard for now.

I want to throw a few changes out there to discuss.

What we are planing in the very short term is exactly what's in the initial post above, but with possibly DGW instead as HashEngineering suggested.

There are many things to be considered for the next upgrade after this.
Here are a few things to get us started:

    • Core Code upgrade (Definitely needed)
    • New look graphics?
    • Block reward review
    • incorporating CPU/GPU algo's

There are obviously lots more, but just to get us started. all suggestions will be considered and the best put to a vote. at a later date.

    New Wallet almost ready.

New Wallet will be ARG v1.2.5
    Main Updates:
    - OpenSSL updated to fix HeartBleed vulnerability
    - Import Dark Gravity Wave v3
    - Updated to Qt5
    - Up to date miniupnpc
    - Include QRcode capability
    - Up to date hard checkpoints

Will be updating the BitcoinTalk ANN post soon with the locations of the new wallets.

DGW will take effect at block 1635000, this should hopefully give us a chance to update our wallets in time.

And there she goes!!! DGW in full flow.

Now, who want to see if they can get us on Yobit?
If we want to chance a free submission, or pay 0.1 btc to get listed in a couple of days?
If the latter, please donate a little to the donation address listed in my signature.

dempsy, re: plans after the fork, I'm opening that up for discussion.

As far as the wallet is concerned we will look to the possible following

Get codebase upgraded to a more current release.
    Change block timings and rewards
    New graphics

For anything else we are open to suggestions.

Come on this is supposed to be comunity driven after all.
